Opening a Photo-CD Image
There are two ways to open a Photo-CD image.
The first is to select Open from the File menu of your software package.
The second is to open it using the Kodak Acquire plug-in module. The Kodak
Acquire plug-in improves a image sharpness, and facilitates image Mode
changes.

Setting the Correct Source and Destination
Imaging software works most efficiently when it knows how an image
was originally scanned, and an image's ultimate use. Be sure to select
the appropriate image source and destination when opening an image.

Sharpening an Image
Sharpening an image increases image detail and definition. To sharpen an
image, select Sharpen from the Filters menu.

Unsharp Mask
The Unsharp Mask filter adjusts the color contrast of image detail. It
can also help to bring a blurred image into focus. To experiment with Unsharp
Mask, select Unsharp Mask from the filters menu and begin with the following
settings:

Noise adds grain to an image. Select Noise
from the Filter to begin experimenting.

Adjusting the Contrast and Brightness
Contrast and Brightness are adjusted via the Image Adjust menu. Almost
every image can benefit from Contrast and Brightness adjustments. In making
your adjustments, always trust your eye to arrive at the optimal settings.

Changing the Mode
Different situations and programs call for assorted image file formats. An image can be converted from one Mode to another by opening
the image, selecting the appropriate Mode from the Image menu, and then
resaving the image.
